Hi There,
My name is Dallas Duzan, and I am a junior at the Kelley School of Business studying marketing. In addition to my skills in Excel and other businessy things, I love to create. From volunteering to make the PowerPoint for the group project to making my friends watch my favorite music videos, I am always looking for an opportunity to use my perspective to help others. Thank you for taking the time to view my work; I hope you enjoy it!
Where I started
As a senior in high school, I took on a DECA project that would forever change my outlook. The project tasked me with raising funds for the chapter by utilizing my project management skills. Throughout the school year, I executed multiple fundraisers, established connections with local businesses, and found my passion for creating a brand. With each event, I realized that it was more than just raising money; it was leaving a legacy for the chapter to be remembered by students and the community. At the end of the year, I had raised over $900 for the chapter and qualified to present my work at the national level.
Where I'm at
My passion for creating a brand image and positioning and organization has carried over into my time at IU. As a freshman, I joined the Indiana University Funding Board (IUFB) as an external relations intern. I was able to spend my first year learning the ins and outs of what communicating to 40,000+ students looked like. Since then, I have earned the title of Director of Marketing, where I oversee communication for the board. As Director of Marketing, I have taken steps to connect the board with the community to foster an environment where students feel valued.
Where I'm going
As I continue to grow as an individual and professional, I am always looking for opportunities to help others. From mentoring underclassmen to organizing events for students, I believe that there is always an opportunity to use my skills to make someone's day better. In the future, I hope to apply my skills to a team of diverse individuals where I am able to help as much as I am able to be helped out. No matter if I am creating, analyzing, or strategizing, there will always be room to take my work to the next level through collaboration.
